Yuvraj Singh: A Sensational Comeback

The recent T20 International between India and Australia witnessed a heroic knock from comeback man and the prince of Punjab, Yuvraj Singh as he almost achieved the impossible by taking India to victory from a seemingly hopeless situation. Yuvi as he is affectionately known among his teammates had worked very hard to get back into the team after losing his place in the side due to some pretty ordinary form that he had displayed in the past. As always he has been a source of inspiration for his team mates and he has once again proved that his teammates still have something to learn from him when it comes to winning matches for India.
After his long battle with cancer, Yuvraj has once again proved that he is here to stay and with his matchwinning innings at Rajkot he has once again proved that he is fit enough to handle the responsibilities of international cricket.
When he first started his career back in 2000,not many people had thought that he would go this far but he had the courage and the determination to overcome all obstacles on way to success and glory. It was in Nairobi on a bright and sunny day that we first witnessed the rise of Yuvraj. The ICC Knockout Cup game against Australia turned out to be a match which would change his career forever. With a wonderful innings with the bat and then a brilliant catch and then a spectacular run out, Yuvraj had announced his arrival at the highest level of the game. The rest is history as the baby-faced youngster went on to achieve bigger things for Indian cricket with the impressive display in the 2011 World Cup being the highest point of his career.
He touched the pinnacle of glory with the World Cup triumph in 2011. Under the leadership of M.S.Dhoni, India went on to win the World Cup for the first time since 1983 and Yuvi's consistent performances earned him the 'Man of the Series' award. It was an honour which he was to cherish for a long time to come but unfortunately his moment of success turned bitter when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. It was a difficult period that he had to go through but his friends and family were with him in this hour of crisis and it didn't take him long to recover. He was soon back to what he did best and the form returned along with the determination to fight it out for the country. Soon the hunger for runs was back along with the passion to play for India.
But in between the moments of brilliance there were a few ordinary performances here and there which led many to believe that the Yuvraj of old was somewhere missing. But his latest knock has once again shown that the hunger is back but can he continue his good form for a long period of time as he had shown in the past is the one thing that will really test Yuvraj in the coming days. So, will he survive the real test only time will tell but for the moment the fans can celebrate yet another glorious moment in this young man's career.
So, let's wish Yuvi all the best for the future and let's hope that he will produce more magic with the willow in the coming days.
