A Man With a Magic Ball: Greatest Sri Lankan Bowler, Muttiah Muralitharan

Whether the Srilankan Cricket Team played at home ground (especially on the pitches where he did not play quite often) or abroad, Muttiah Muralitharan was a 'go to guy' kind of person for most of the skippers and a hard nut to crack for most of the batsmen. For the fans, he's is the god of spin ball. For those who are skeptic, Muttiah Muralitharan is a charlatan contemptible of the cricket's supreme records, blamed for the modifications and changes in the cricket laws that facilitated him on his throwing actions. Whatever the thoughts of his non-supporters are, undeniably his ability to twirl the ball penetratingly on any surface, any conditions anywhere in the world makes him a maestro.
Muralitharan's killer instinct is basically on the back of extraordinary agile wrists and a strong shoulder that rotates as swiftly as fast pacers when he delivers the ball. His quality allows him to spin the ball with more efficacies when compared to other orthodox spin bowlers. Who can forget his very own 'Doosra' made him Shane Warne's archrival in wicket-taking statistics and prominence palisades.
Controversies were always a part of his life and he dealt them like a brave heart but his hawk like sparkling eyes and an always smiling place shows his resilience towards his persona. His down to earth and friendly attitude for his rival teams and batsmen has made him a darling amongst all. His Sri Lankan cricket team mate Kumara Sangakkara praised by saying that, 'He is the icon of Sri Lanka'. Former Indian cricket team Captain Kapil Dev's golden words for Muralitharan will always be cherished in the cricket world as he said, "Murali is a genius. I say this because he has developed his own doosra and is a pioneer in the delivery. His achievements are incomparable."
Muttiah Muralitharan holds almost all the Sri Lankan cricket team bowling records where he has a long list of international cricket records (especially 500 ODI wickets along with 800 test wickets), which seems unbreakable ever in the history. On his 800 test wickets Kapil Dev talking to press said that, "He faced many hurdles in his life but overcame all like a champion. With the kind of Twenty20 and one-day cricket being played these days, I do not think anyone in the world can come closer to his mark, leave alone surpassing it." His retirement definitely left a gap in Sri Lankan team which will be filled in decades to come.
His Cricket Records:
Test Cricket Matches: He played 133 matches and took 800 wickets at an average of 22.72.
One Day International Matches: He played 350 matches and took 534 wickets at an average of 23.08.
In T20 cricket, he has played 12 matches and has taken 13 wickets at an average of 22.84.
With these records there is no doubt left that he indeed is the man with magic ball.
