Virender Sehwag's Conquests

Virender Sehwag is a top quality batsman, if ever there was one. His motto "I am going to smack that ball so hard that it is going to cross over to the outer-space, looney toon style, and stay there." He was the God of the One Day Internationals, but off late he has slowly expanded his comfort zone over the Test series; and has a number of records in the Test cricket to show for it.
Fondly and fearfully nicknamed the 'Nawab of Najafgarh', he is slated as one of the only four cricketers in the whole wide world to have scored two triple centuries in the Test series. As a homage to his impressive performances over the years, he was honoured as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World in the year 2008; and to prove that he was indeed worthy to be bestowed with such a prestigious title, he went on and retained the award the following year as well. Virender Sehwag's profile is massively impressive, to say the least. He has donned the role of the vice-captain with panache and stood his ground, amidst disheartening speculations of his not-so-impressive form.
Virender Sehwag statistics speaks for itself. He is a multiple record holder which includes the highest achieved by an Indian cricketer in Test Cricket- 319 runs. In March of 2009, he scored the fastest 100 runs ever to be scored by an Indian from 60 balls in One Day International cricket series, a feat still reminisced by many as an iconic moment in cricketing history. He has also scored a double century in the ODI series. He created ODI history yet again when he took 219 runs off 149 balls in a match against West Indies. He even broke 'Master Blaster' Sachin Tendulkar's record of 200 not out which he scored against South Africa. While some were sad that Sachin's record was broken, Veeru's fans ran amok with joy.
In home soil, he has captained the Delhi Dare devil team for two seasons in a row and later relinquished the title to Gautam Gambhir to better his batting skills. He came back to lead the team in the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League games, to make yet another record of being the only cricketer to score around five consecutive half centuries in T20s. Whether he is hitting balls that send the fielders scurrying to the field boundaries or astounding sixers that go off the stadium, there is never a dull moment with Sehwag.
